ACTIVITY THERAPIST - San Diego Hospital
TITLE: ACTIVITY THERAPIST
DEPARTMENT: ACTIVITY THERAPY/CLINICAL SERVICES
REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF ADJUNCTIVE THERAPY

Position Summary: To serve as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, to provide therapeutic recreational and activity services to adult, adolescent, or child patients with emotional or substance abuse problems.

Essential Duties:
* Develops and implements activity therapy plans
* Maintains the clinical and administrative documentation for services rendered
* Participates in the effective allocation of department resources
* Requests supplies and equipment required for assigned activities
* Provides individual instruction for clients as required

Qualifications: Comprehensive knowledge of one or more activity areas such as recreation, occupational therapy, music, or arts and crafts; Comprehensive knowledge of individual and group behavior and effective ways of working with clients; Intermediate knowledge of the general nature of physical or mental illnesses/disabilities and/or developmental disabilities; Ability to apply and adapt skills and knowledge of activity areas to planned sessions of therapeutic activities; Ability to foster interest, initiative, responsibility, and experimentation in clients and discourage inappropriate responses; Ability to observe client behavior, record observations, and prepare reports; CTSR, ATR, MT-BC, drama therapy, or related disciplines preferred.

ADMITTING CLERK - San Diego Hospital

Position Summary: To facilitate the orderly admission of patients to the organization, balancing the patient's comfort and ease with the organization's operating needs and financial goals.

Essential Duties:

• Verify patient insurance benefits verbally and send written documentation to insurance company.
• Receives and processes physician's order for patient admission and completes related admission procedures; obtains patient and other required signatures on voluntary admission or commitment papers; obtains various releases, including: patient activity participation, school records and immunization records (if child or adolescent), information to referral sources, physician billing, insurance, and Utilization Review companies.
• Obtain pre-authorization for admission when needed.
• Completes face sheet; assigns patient identification number.
• Conducts actual admissions during regular hours; checks documentation on after hour admissions.
• Answer numerous daily telephone calls from patients, insurance companies, and others.
• Maintains supplies required for admitting purposes.

QUALIFICATIONS AT ENTRY: High school level reading, writing and mathematic skills; good telephone and oral communication skills; legible handwriting; ability to concentrate on tasks in high traffic area; maintain information in the highest confidence; meet deadlines; good organization and priority setting skills; preferred basic data entry skills with some computer experience; strong customer service skills; empathy; attention to detail.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS OF JOB: Ability to stoop, kneel, lift, moving about in work area and throughout organization to accomplish tasks, finger (i.e. pick or type) and grasp. Ability to express and exchange ideas via spoken word, conveying information to others accurately and on occasion, quickly. Her sound with no less than 40 db loss @ Hz, 1000 Hz, and 2000 Hz with or without correction; perceive detailed information through oral communication and to make fine discriminations in sound. Chaplain - Las Encinas Hospital
Provides religious/spiritual counseling and guidance to patients, family members, and hospital employees as requested. Develops both inpatient and outpatient groups to focus on how the spiritual dimensions of the individual’s life can be of positive support in their recovery from psychiatric illness as well as how it may have hindered them in the past. Is a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team to help educate the hospital staff regarding proper assessment of the spiritual needs of patients. acilitates a liaison relationship between the hospital and spiritual/religious related community resources. Upon requests helps patients connect with their faith communities as well as providing resources where they can receive continuing spiritual/religious support as part of their aftercare plan. Educates community spiritual/religious organizations about the hospital’s services. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Ordination and Ecclesiastical endorsement is required. Four (4) units of Clinical Pastoral Education and Certification by the Association of Professional Chaplains are preferred. Must have expertise in the understanding of how to provide religious/spiritual support in the context of serious mental illness. Must have working knowledge of the general practices of diverse faith traditions and be respectful of diverse belief systems. Therapist MFT/MSW Intern-(unpaid) - Vista del Mar Hospital
We are seeking MFT/MSW Interns with some experience to facilitate groups/case management in an acute inpatient psychiatric setting. Applicants should have experience with chronically mentally ill adults, and some group experience preferred. Bi-lingual Spanish is a plus. We are looking to fill vacancies Mon.-Fri. 9am-5:30pm with some weekend availability required, minimum 3 days per week, for a 1 year commitment. Please do not apply if you are unable to complete the one year commitment as an unpaid Intern. You will receive training and supervision with all populations ages 12-older adult.
